Little Mix fans are having a hard time when it is announced that Jesy Nelson, one of its members, is leaving the band. A few weeks ago, a statement from his management reported that the singer was temporarily away from the stage due to health problems but a few hours ago the confirmation has arrived: she leaves the group permanently due to mental health.
It was last night when the official Little Mix account released the news that the girl group that was formed nine years ago in the talent show X Factor lost one of its members. “After 9 incredible years together, Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix. This is an incredibly sad moment for all of us, but we fully support Jesy ”, they posted on social media.
Fearing that the group would cease to exist, the other three members of the band, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirdwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock confirmed that they would continue with Little Mix with the same force as always:
“We love you very much and we agree that it is very important that you do the right thing for your mental health and well-being. We are still really enjoying our Little Mix trip and the 3 of us are not ready for it to end. “
It’s been less than a month since Jesy Nelson temporarily left the group and fans first saw Little Mix performing as a trio. What no one imagined is that it was the prelude to a definitive departure from the band. Jesy herself wanted to explain the reasons and thank her for all the support, not only to her followers but also to her colleagues.
“The last nine years at Little Mix have been the most wonderful of my life. We have managed to do things that I never thought were possible. From winning our first Brit Award to our sold outs in 02 ”, the artist recalled.
“The truth is that being in a group has taken its toll on me mentally. I’ve had constant pressure being in a girlband and having very harsh expectations. It is then when, after considering it a lot, and with all the pain in my heart, I announce that I am leaving Little Mix ”, Jesy Nelson has been sincere, then arguing what it is that he needs to be well.
“I need to spend time with the people I love, doing things that make me happy. I am ready to start a new chapter in my life. I don’t know what will happen now, but I hope you are here to support me, ”he continued.
And it is that, apparently, the mental health of the artist has been cracking after so many years of pressure and bullying in social networks where she has always been the target of haters who were picking on her because of her weight.
“There comes a time in life when you have to invest your time in taking care of yourself rather than in focusing on making others happy, and I feel that now is the time to start that process,” he said.
At the moment, it is unknown if Jesy Nelson will embark on a solo career as a singer or if she will dedicate herself to other tasks far from the music sector.
