Although he hits all the sticks (he beats, sings, composes, raps and is a DJ), Timbaland -whose real name is Timothy Zachery Mosley– is known plain and simple for being one of the best producers in the world, especially for the hip hop y el R&B.
Timbaland soon became known alongside Magoo y Missy Elliot in his native Virginia. What started with a simple move to New York to work with DeVante, began to go more and more, first signing Ginuwine and taking it to the top and then doing the same with Missy Elliot. It can be said that the rest is history.
Following the success of Ginuwine’s ‘The Bachelor’, many of the best names in the industry began calling Timbaland to claim their instrumentals, and thus ended up making a portfolio of beats for Madonna, Michael Jackson (de modo póstumo), Aaliyah, One Republic, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Ludacris, Nelly Furtado, Rihanna, Katy Perry o Miley Cirus.
Timbaland went from being a producer to being a symbol around the world, whose beats often covered the merit of the singer. Timbo defined his own style and redefined the boundaries of hip hop and R&B forever. That is why it was necessary to select their best productions and make an article with them, and here they are. The best of Timbaland, genius and figure.
Missy Elliot – «She’s a b****» (1999)
Timbaland kept producing Missy Elliot, getting better and better, every time navigating new musical landscapes.
Liquid rhythms, brilliantly assembled percussions, samples, synths, and a whole host of masterful compendium of production.
JAY-Z – ‘Dirt Off Your Shoulder’ (2003)
Production for Shawn Carter on the album that was supposed to give him retirement.
Most likely one of the best beats on an album which already has many of the best producers in the world. Great level again.
Justin Timberlake – ‘SexyBack’ (2006)
The more mature return of Justin Timberlake It was from Timbaland’s hand.
Electronics, disco and funk on a fantastic beat in which the ex N’Sync It showed that he was much more than just a regular boyband member.
Missy Elliot feat. Da Brat – ‘Sock it 2 Me’ (1997)
Wonderful retro futuristic beat with a sample of The Delfonics.
Missy Elliot and Da Brat were the perfect combo for a song that played throughout ’97 and ’98. It is still fantastic.
Aaliyah – ‘We Need a Resolution’ (2001)
Undoubtedly one of the best Timbaland productions.
Again real samples are mixed with synths and master drums. The iconic eclectic mix of Timbo in one of its most significant examples.
Justin Timberlake – ‘Cry Me a River’ (2002)
One of the biggest pop hits of recent years it came again from the hand of Timbaland and Justin Timberlake.
The best solo song from the first and one of the best beats from the second. To say that Timbaland has talent is an understatement.
Ginuwine – ‘Pony’ (1996)
Ginuwine He jumped to the fore with his first album, thanks in large part to Timbaland’s talent in production.
‘Pony’ it was one of the biggest R&B hits in 96 (especially in the United States and in Germany) and Ginwine … held out as long as he could.
