According to a new study, people with A, B and positive blood groups are at higher risk of coronary heart disease. On the other hand, people with O, AB and negative blood groups are less likely to be infected.
The research was done by the famous Sri Gangaram Hospital in Delhi. The results of this study were published in Frontier in Cellular and Infectious Microbiology. However, researchers did not find any correlation between the severity of the disease and the blood type.
Research at a glance
According to the research paper, this study was conducted on 256 people infected with covid from April 6 to October 4, 2020. Of these participants, 98.08 percent were of positive blood group. “We wanted to find a link between the blood group and the corona virus,” the study said. We wanted to see how the blood type is related to the risk of disease, severity of the disease, hospital stay of the patient, mortality etc. In this case we have ABO. Blood group And analyzed data using the RH blood group (RH) system. The study was conducted on people admitted to Gangaram Hospital in Delhi who were positively identified through real-time PCR.
According to the research team, people with A and B blood groups are most at risk of contracting colic. On the other hand, O and AB groups have a slightly lower risk of infection. On the other hand, people in the RH + group are at higher risk of contracting the disease.
However, as I have said before, the study did not find any link between the blood group and the degree to which the disease progresses. However, this study reveals another important piece of information. In this case, it takes much less time for people with A and PGT blood to recover from this disease. There are people with O and negative blood group who are recovering late from this disease.
